Another fitness studio has closed its doors in Calgary as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Barre Belle issued a release on November 4 stating that they will be permanently closing their in-person studios in Calgary and Vancouver given the difficulty in keeping the community safe as coronavirus cases rise in Alberta.

The company noted that they would still be offering classes at the physically distanced Studio X in Calgary as well as virtual classes.

Studio X is located in the CORE Shopping Centre, features smaller class sizes, and requires that all participants bring their own equipment.

“What has emerged with outstanding clarity during this turbulent time is the strength and resilience of our Barre Belle community. In the last 5 years you have supported us in person as we expanded across the country, and you have supported us as we went digital with The Belle Bod, offering online classes and virtual experiences from our living rooms to yours,” the release states.

“While the in-person aspects of Barre Belle might prevent us from being together, we hope you have found a sense of community and support in our Belle Bod program. We are excited about the journey ahead and the ability to continue our new path in this virtual community.”

Barre Belle also stated that it hopes to safely reopen its Queen West studio in Toronto sometime in the future.
