Popular chain restaurant has quietly closed its only Alberta location

It looks as though it’s the end of an era for a well-known chain restaurant in Alberta, with the quiet closure of its last remaining restaurant in the province.
After days of speculation online about the closure, it looks as though Applebee’s has, in fact, closed its final Calgary location at 388 Country Hills Blvd. NE.
Calgarians on Reddit had been speculating on the fate of Applebee’s Northpointe outpost after a user said they had tried to visit only to find it closed. While some Redditors said they had been warned about the closure, nothing official was confirmed.
However, the location has now been listed as “permanently closed” on Google, though the location is still displayed on the Applebee’s website.

Previously, there had been another Applebee’s location in Sunridge, which had also closed its doors.
While Applebee’s in Alberta is no more, the chain still operates several locations across Canada in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Ontario.
