New restaurant serving Vietnamese breakfast is set to open in Calgary

Ramen Taka may have closed its doors less than one month ago, but we already know which restaurant is set to replace it on 17th Avenue.

An Sang, a brand-new spot for Vietnamese breakfast, is gearing up to open at 843 17th Ave. SW.

Brought to life by a trio of owners — Nin Dang, Danny Truong, and Eric Nguyen — the space will seat up to 45, where it will be serving up classic Vietnamese breakfast dishes.

“In Vietnamese culture, breakfast is considered the most important meal of the day. Through our food, we hope to introduce and share this important part of our culture with the community,” the team told Dished.

As to what to expect from the menu, there’ll be dishes from all over Vietnam, including Pho from Northern Vietnam, Central Vietnam’s Bun Bo Hue, and broken rice platters from Southern Vietnam.

Another dish that’s set to appear on the menu isĀ Bo Ne, a sizzling beef plate, combining quality Alberta beef with classic Vietnamese flavours.

While there is no official opening date just yet, the team is aiming to have An Sang ready to open by the end of June.
