
January weather can be bone-chilling and snowy, but so far this week, Alberta has been treated to some truly nice temperatures, with numerous areas in the province setting daytime maximum temperature records yesterday.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) stated in a weather summary on Wednesday that numerous records were broken in Alberta, including Medicine Hat, which saw its highest daily maximum temperature for any Jan. 13 in the record books since they started being kept back in 1883.
ECCC added that the following areas set a daily maximum temperature record on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026:
Bow Island Area

ECCC added that the temperature records reported have been derived from a selection of historical stations in each geographic area that were active during the period of record.
