5 deaths,113 new coronavirus cases detected in Alberta

Five more people have died in Alberta with COVID-19.

A release from the Province of Alberta states that the total number of fatalities seen in the province throughout the pandemic has reached 195.

The past 24 hours also saw an additional 113 new coronavirus cases detected in Alberta, bringing the total to 10,716 — the third-most in all of Canada.

Of these cases, 1,585 have been from unknown exposure, while 1,408 remain active.

676,913 coronavirus tests have been conducted in Alberta since March on 566,054 Albertans, 6,670 of which were completed over the past 24 hours.

Most of Alberta’s active cases are found in Calgary, with 655, followed by Edmonton with 278, the Central zone with 201, the south zone with 148, and the north zone with 118.
