Hot weather has settled in right across Alberta, and nine spots in the province set heat records yesterday, according to history books dating back more than 100 years.
While the temperatures Alberta saw yesterday are nowhere near landing on the list of top 10 hottest ever recorded, they are quite warm, and the thermometer in nine spots reached levels never seen for Aug. 27.

Heat warnings are currently in place for a wide swath of Alberta, with daytime high temperatures ranging between 29°C and 34°C expected this week.
Overnight lows will vary greatly, between 10°C and 16°C, depending on location. There is a concern that the effects of the heat could build over time; however, the heat will come to an end early next week.
