Time is running out for Albertans to apply to get a $100 rebate
We are zooming through September, and the deadline to apply for the $100 Alberta Energy Rebate is quickly approaching.
Applications for the rebate opened back on Canada Day, and the deadline to apply lands at the end of this month.
If you haven’t applied yet, Alberta residents who are 18 or older, have filed a 2025 tax return, and have a household income of $225,000 or less are eligible to apply for the Energy Rebate through a secure online portal.

Rebates will be delivered by e-transfer directly to your bank account or by email within 14 days of applying. Rebates are non-taxable and will not affect other government benefits.

The rebate has previously faced some technical challenges, with some Albertans reporting issues accessing the application portal and completing the payment verification process.
The Province has also flagged that people should be on the lookout for scam texts about the Alberta Energy Rebate, and not click links in text messages to apply.
The official portal is the only safe and legitimate way to apply for the Alberta Energy Rebate. The Government of Alberta will not send money by text message. If you have opted to receive money by e-transfer, your security answer is your application code.
