Alberta reports 516 new COVID-19 cases, four additional deaths

Alberta health officials reported 516 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the number of active infections in the province to 6,515.

There are now 677 people in hospital with the virus, a decrease of 20 since Wednesday’s count of 697. Hospitalizations include 146 people currently in intensive care, a decrease of nine.

There were four additional deaths related to the virus reported over the past 24 hours, raising Alberta’s COVID-19 death toll to 3,137.

Due to technical issues, vaccine numbers will be updated on November 5, according to a posting on the Alberta government website.

Over the course of the pandemic, a total of 325,517 confirmed cases of the disease have been found, including 315,865 infections that have since recovered.
