Alberta's active coronavirus cases dropped by 86 over past 24 hours

Eighty-five new coronavirus cases were detected in Alberta over the past 24 hours, but the active case count was reduced by 86.

New numbers from the Province of Alberta states that active cases are now hovering just above 1,000 at 1,004, a significant drop from yesterday’s 1,090.

This comes alongside the aforementioned 85 new cases throughout the province, the result of 7,057 tests conducted on August 10.

Calgary saw a decrease in active cases down to 322, while Edmonton saw an increase up to 401.

Three additional deaths occurred over the past 24 hours related to coronavirus.

A total of 10,552 Albertans have recovered from the virus over the course of the ongoing pandemic, 168 more since yesterday.

As always, Albertans are encouraged to practice physical distancing, wear a mask when in public, maintain proper hand hygiene, and stay home if they are feeling at all sick.
