A popular Jasper restaurant with great views is set to reopen after two years

A popular downtown Jasper restaurant is set to reopen with an updated dining room and fresh new fare after a wildfire forced it to close nearly two years ago.

Alba Restaurant, a second-floor restaurant at 610 Patricia St., announced on social media that it is entering a “fresh chapter” and plans to reopen soon.

“Jasper, we’re coming back,” the restaurant wrote. “We’re preparing to welcome you back with beautiful mountain views, handcrafted cocktails, and memorable dining experiences.”

Known for its contemporary Italian cuisine, Alba was a popular spot for breakfast, dinner and cocktails before it closed following the Jasper wildfire on July 22, 2024. The fire destroyed the building that housed Alba and other restaurants like Patricia Street Deli, which has since reopened in Edmonton.

Alba told Daily Hive it is currently in the process of rebuilding and undergoing a refresh that includes an expanded dining room and patio.

When it reopens, the restaurant will move away from its Italian menu and offer what it describes as “modern global cuisine” while maintaining the extended hours that made it an easy option for brunch, dinner and drinks.

“We are excited to welcome guests back soon and will announce our official opening date once construction and final preparations are complete.”

“Follow us for updates.”
