One of the Oilers made an appearance at an Edmonton sandwich shop this week.

Run by owners Glen and Wendy Leitch, Patricia Street Deli is one of the newest sandwich shops in Edmonton, having opened in the city after the Jasper wildfires destroyed its original location. It was a popular staple in Jasper, having opened in 2004, and its opening in Edmonton was highly anticipated — not only with us, but with the entire city.

It looks like the Oilers caught wind of this famed sandwich restaurant, as one of them visited Patricia Street Deli not too long ago.

On Dec. 7, Patricia Street Deli posted about Evan Bouchard, defenceman for the local Oilers team, making a visit for a sandwich.

“He was kind, gracious, and somehow made everyone feel like we were the special ones,” says the Patricia Street Deli team. “Naturally, the guys didn’t miss their chance for a photo op — I mean, how often does your lunch rush include an Edmonton Oiler?”

It’s an exciting time at the deli for everyone, that’s for sure.

Whether you’re an Oiler or just someone looking for good food, Patricia Street Deli is officially open for business and ready to serve you a life-changing sandwich. Get ready for deliciousness, and don’t miss out on a Bouchard-approved meal.
