Environment and Climate Change Canada has put out wind warnings for certain parts of Vancouver Island, meaning things are about to get pretty wild. Earlier this week, we had those wild, hurricane-like winds from the bomb cyclone.
Luckily, this storm’s not quite as intense.
On Thursday, the warnings started rolling out for West Vancouver Island. Expect gusts between 90 and 100 km/h to really pick up in the afternoon and last into the evening.
By Friday morning, the government agency added East Vancouver Island to the list, from Nanoose Bay all the way up to Campbell River, with winds between 70 and 90 km/h later that night.

So, what’s going on?
A low-pressure system off the Washington coast is creeping up toward the island, which is why we’re seeing this crazy weather again. The winds won’t be as extreme as what we saw earlier in the week, but don’t let your guard down.
These gusts can still cause a whole lot of trouble: flying debris, roof shingles coming loose, tree branches making their way to the ground, and possible power outages.
