Juan de Fuca Provincial Park on Vancouver Island’s southwest coast is facing temporary closures due to heavy rain and recent flooding ahead of the Remembrance Day long weekend.
BC’s Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy is advising visitors to check the BC Parks website before setting out, as several key areas remain closed for safety and repair.
The closures affect the Juan de Fuca Trail, backcountry campsites, the Sombrio Beach suspension bridge, and the Parkinson Trailhead. These areas will remain closed until further inspections determine the extent of the damage and the necessary repairs.

However, several scenic spots are still open to visitors, including China Beach, Second Beach, East Sombrio Beach, Botanical Beach, and Botany Bay, which can still be enjoyed for day use.
If you’re planning a visit, be sure to check the BC Parks website for the latest updates on closures and advisories to make the most of your trip while staying safe.
