YVR warning travellers and shoppers of Boxing Day traffic rush

If you’ve got a flight to catch on Thursday, beware of increased traffic in the area due to Boxing Day sales at Richmond’s McArthurGlen Designer Outlet.

YVR says that they expect heavy traffic congestion throughout the entire day.

Anyone looking to travel to the airport, whether it be passengers or employees, is advised to allow extra time and to consider taking public transportation, if possible.

Lengthy delays could also be expected for anyone looking to use the Value Long Term Lot, which is in close proximity to the outlet.

Employees on Sea Island and shoppers headed to McArthurGlen are also advised to take the Canada Line, and those who need to drive are being advised to leave early, as heavy delays near the outlet mall are expected throughout the day.

Those taking the Canada Line train to the outlet mall should exit at Templeton Station.

McArthurGlen will open two hours early at 8 am on Boxing Day and will close at 9 pm. Lineups are expected to begin at 7 am.
