The woman linked to a murder in Yaletown in the summer of 2022 has received their sentence.
This morning, the Vancouver Police Department announced that its investigation has led to the conviction in the homicide of Justin Mohrmann, who was stabbed to death in a stranger attack in July 2022.

37-year-old Lyndsay Scott, who was 34 when the attack took place, has been handed a six-year jail sentence followed by three years’ probation with mandatory treatment at a forensic hospital.
Mohrmann, who was 29 years old, was stabbed in the chest. At the time of the attack, he was walking near Smithe and Homer Street, on the morning of July 11, 2022. Police discovered him suffering “grave injuries.”
He was taken to the hospital, but passed away a short time later.
Police determined it was a random and unprovoked attack and believe that mental illness and drug use were factors. Police identified a suspect near the crime scene after witnesses called 9-1-1 to report the stabbing that occurred around 8:30 a.m.
Scott was arrested without incident near Main and Hastings.
Initially, Scott was charged with second-degree murder. Scott was eventually convicted of manslaughter after a jury trial. Last week, the court imposed the sentence. In addition to Scott’s other conditions, the court has also imposed a 10-year firearms prohibition order.
