There’s a reason people call it ‘Raincouver’. (Even when it snows it tends to just turn to slush!)
Most of the time you can deal with the never-ending drizzle with a sturdy umbrella, but one part of your outfit usually takes a soggy hit. Notably, your shoes.
Luckily this can now be a thing of the past because Vancouver tech startup, Vessi Footwear has developed the world’s first fully waterproof, knit shoe.
It’s the next big innovation in footwear with Vessi’s patented Flash-Knit technology making the shoes waterproof, breathable, moisture-wicking, and lightweight, with a four-way adaptive stretch. So this means you can say goodbye to those heavy, outdated rain boots that have been killing your style.
The revolutionary shoes are now available to pre-order on Kickstarter for just $99. You’re going to want a pair of these kicks in your life to take on Vancouver’s weather in modern style with all the functionality you need in your busy lifestyle.
Vessi’s Flash-Knit technology is made up of three functional layers with breakthrough features:
- The shell layer is a form-fitting elastic knit composed of a hybrid blend of polyester and nylon. Using an in-house circle knitting process, each shell is designed to stretch, conform and provide adaptive support for the best possible fit.
- The core layer is a waterproof and moisture-wicking membrane. The nano-structure of the membrane is impervious to water but allows moisture to escape, keeping your feet dry, reducing sweat and the buildup of odor throughout the day.
- The inner layer is a comfort lining designed to mimic the feeling of wearing socks. It’s soft to touch and form-fitting, allowing for maximum comfort and support for all kinds of activities. Yep, that means you can go sock-free if you want to.
The ultimate weatherproof shoes by Vessi also feature an ultra lightweight Vzero midsole which has been designed to maximize energy return while providing dynamic flex and cushion for every step. Oh, and the outsole is enhanced with rubber treads for traction in all weather conditions, too!
