Women's World Softball Championship 2016 is coming to Surrey

The Women’s World Softball Championship is coming to Surrey for 2016, and the first five participating countries have been announced.

Canada, Czech Republic, France, New Zealand, and USA are all confirmed to participate in the Women’s World Softball Championship and will join 2,000 athletes for 10 days of competition.

More than 30 countries from around the world will be competing to win the fast pitch title.

“We are thrilled to announce the first five countries committed to participating in SURREY 2016,” said Chairman, Greg Timm. “This is just the beginning of many announcements surrounding the countries that will be coming to Surrey this July to participate in this world-class event.”

Team Canada recently won a gold medal at the 2015 Pan Am games in Toronto and is ranked number four in the world.

The games will be held from July 15 to 24 at the Championship Diamond in Surrey. Day tickets start at $12, while packages start at $100.
