Members of the VPD were attempting to execute a search warrant at a residence near Station Avenue and Main Street on Tuesday around noon when one of the people inside apparently tried to flee out the window as officers knocked on the door.

That’s when the woman, in her 20s, fell out.

Luckily, she didn’t fall the entire four storeys. According to Const. Jason Doucette, the young woman’s fall was broken by an awning below.

The woman was rushed to hospital with serious but what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The case is now in the hands of the Independent Investigations Office of BC, who mandate is to probe officer-related incidents to determine whether or not an offence was committed by an officer.
