Get winter vacay ready at this epic Vancouver fashion pop-up

Winter vacations are absolutely blissful. Seriously, what could be better than swapping the cold weather in Vancouver for kicking back on a beach in the tropics? It’s as good as it gets.

The only problem is that it can be a real struggle trying to pick up last-minute travel essentials at the mall, where you can find any style of winter coat you like, but not so much apparel for warmer climates.

Thankfully, there’s an innovative pop-up happening in Vancouver this month that’s going to inspire your pre-vacation planning — and it’s bringing various events and brands together under one roof.

Last year, we introduced you to an eco-conscious swimwear label that lets you give back to the world. Now, from Wednesday, November 20 to Sunday, November 24, the brand is hosting OCIN presents The Break Room.

Taking place at The Apartment by Case Study Studios, the series of events will see lifestyle and eco-swim brand OCIN showcase their Chapter I collection.

Attendees will have the chance to shop the pieces in person, as well as the opportunity to book a free private fitting with OCIN’s founder, Courtney Chew. If you’ve ever bought swimwear only to realize the fit was way off, you’ll appreciate this.

Also at the pop-up will be like-minded brands: beautiful suitcases and lifestyle travel pieces from Monos, blankets from Minca, and home and gift pieces from Litchfield. So you might even get some items checked off your holiday present list while you’re there!

OCIN presents The Break Room/OCIN

But it’s not going to be all shopping for the duration of the five-day pop-up. OCIN is inviting the community to hang out and take a break with them at one of the ticketed events taking place in collaboration with their community partners.

This includes a Welcome Event on the first day, coffee workshops with Timbertrain, Botanical workshops with HANA by Celsia, and tea meditations led by the co-founder of Hey Jude, Lyndsey Chow.

The pop-up is free to attend and tickets for the events start at $15, but don’t delay in getting yours via Eventbrite as they are limited. To make it better, partial proceeds from event ticket sales and shopping OCIN products are going to the brand’s chosen non-profit for their Chapter II collection — Sustainable Coastlines Hawai’i.
