
High winds are resulting in power outages and downed trees around Metro Vancouver.
Photos posted on Twitter show a large tree that has come down near Commercial Drive and William Street.

BC Hydro is reporting several outages around Metro Vancouver.
In Langley, hundreds of customers are currently without power.

There is also a report of an outage in Vancouver affecting over 2,500 residents.

A special weather statement is currently in place for Metro Vancouver, forecasting winds up to 70 km/h. The winds are expected to subside this afternoon.
