Vallea Lumina, Whistler’s immersive, light-up night walk is expending its offerings into the fall and winter season.

The event takes place at Cougar Mountain, just 10 minutes away from Whistler Village, and was first introduced in the summer of 2018.

According to organizers, visitors can expect “a winter wonderland filled with dazzling lights, emotive soundscapes, and stunning scenography.”

The 60-minute adventure follows Lenoard and Gloria, two hikers who are seeking “a mystical valley where stardust falls from the sky.” The interactive experience gives hikers the chance to play, touch, and engage with Vallea Lumina’s ever-changing environment.

The interactive experience  is presented by Montreal-based entertainment studio, Moment Factory and Whistler’s very own “The Adventure Group.”

The team behind Vallea Lumina also says that the winter trail will be smoother and easier to walk, with minimal elevation change. There will also be additional lighting effects to heighten the visitor’s experience and enhance the excursion.

Similar to their summer installations, there will also be a free shuttle going to and from Cougar Mountain, as well as non-alcoholic refreshments and snacks available for purchase on-site.

Tickets to Vallea Lumina can be purchased online and cost $29.99 per adult and $24.99 per child.

Vallea Lumina’s winter installation will begin on November 28, 2019, and run nightly until April of 2020.
