A Whistler tourism organization that has a branch with heli-skiing and another that offers other backcountry experiences was acquired.

Whitecap Alpine Adventures, a lodge which features backcountry skiing and many other experiences, acquired the Blackcomb Helicopters’ tourism division.

Blackcomb’s base for its tourism operations is in Whistler, and its main office is located in Delta.

Blackcomb Helicopters’ tourism division includes both Coast Range Heli-Skiing and Tyax Adventures.

“The acquisition marks a major milestone in Whitecap’s evolution and signals a dynamic new chapter of growth within British Columbia’s backcountry tourism and guiding landscape.”

Whitecap Alpine Adventures was founded by Lars Andrews, and the organization states that it’s known for its expertise in guided ski touring and hiking experiences based out of McGillivray Pass Lodge, which is near Pemberton.

“Having spent a significant part of my life at McGillivray Pass Lodge, through my decades-long family ties, my work with Whitecap Alpine Adventures, and my career, I feel a deep connection to this landscape,” Andrews said in a media release.

“It’s a connection rooted in stewardship, community, and culture, and it continues to inspire everything we do.”

Both Coast Range Heli-Skiing and Tyax Adventures will continue to operate under their existing leadership.

“The integration of these operations under the Whitecap umbrella reflects a shared commitment to responsible adventure travel, collaboration, and respect for the remarkable landscapes that define British Columbia’s mountain experience,” Whitecap Alpine Adventures says.

“Joining Whitecap Alpine Adventures brings together two organizations with a shared commitment to safety, professional guiding, mountain culture, and responsible adventure travel.”
