A tense altercation between mountain bikers has gone viral, ending with one man being suspended and having his park pass revoked.
A representative from Vail Resorts shared some information about the incident with Daily Hive, which occurred on Friday at Whistler Mountain Bike Park in the Creekside Zone of the South Park. Whistler Mountain Bike Park is located at 4282 Mountain Square.
The altercation was sudden and began without warning.
The video begins with two mountain bikers travelling on a narrow forested path toward a bridge over water, and you can hear one of the riders remarking on how pretty the area is. The two bikers come to a stop on the bridge as a third biker, not with the pair, tries to squeeze past.
After that, the situation quickly becomes tense and physical, and the third man starts to push one of the bikers.
“I’m sorry, man, I didn’t mean it,” he says as he continuously pushes the other biker.
Eventually, the situation seems to deescalate as the third man passes by and continues on his way. But seconds later, he turns back, accusing the pair of calling him a bitch.
The two bikers do their best not to antagonize the man, but he eventually grabs one of their bikes, lifts it over his head, and tosses it over the bridge into the water below.

He also accuses the pair of abusing him and kicking him in the groin, but the video doesn’t seem to indicate that.
The video has gone viral, leading to over 7,000 likes and 2,000 comments.
Some people who responded to the video suggested that the initial pair of bikers should’ve acted more aggressively, while others praised their calmness in deescalating the situation.
Vail Resorts told Daily Hive that the third man faced consequences for his actions.
“The safety of our guests is our top priority, and behaviour of this nature is not appropriate or acceptable in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park (WMBP),” it said.
“We have revoked this guest’s access to the WMBP, and their pass has been suspended.”
Vail Resorts also said, “We are committed to upholding a safe and respectful environment for all guests in our park.
Whistler RCMP told Daily Hive that it will contact us if it has any information to share about the incident. Daily Hive has also reached out to the bikers involved in the altercation.
