When and where to catch Canada's epic FIFA World Cup 'march to the match' in Vancouver

Jun 23 2026, 12:31 am

The streets of Vancouver will be painted red and white again on Wednesday, as Canada takes on Switzerland at the FIFA World Cup.

The match, which kicks off at BC Place at noon, will decide the winner of Group B. Canada can top the group and continue playing matches at BC Place in the knockout round with a win or draw. Should Canada lose the match, Alphonso Davies and company would be forced to play their Round of 32 match in Los Angeles.

Needless to say, it’s a huge game. And it’ll be accompanied by a huge show of Canadian support.

The Voyageurs, Canada’s supporters group, have organized a march to the match. Canada fans are being asked to assemble at 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of Quebec St. and Central St. Fans will march together to BC Place beginning at 10 a.m.

“The march last week saw thousands of fans take to the streets in an incredible display of support for our country. Let’s make this one even bigger,” the Vancouver Southsiders announced via Instagram. “Wear your red and bring your loudest voice.”

While fan marches have long been a tradition among soccer supporters groups — the Southsiders march down Robson St. before every Vancouver Whitecaps match — we’ve never seen anything like last Thursday in Vancouver. The vibes were off the charts when a sea of red filled the streets before Canada’s historic win against Qatar.

We can only imagine what supporters can do for an encore.
