We all love celebrating Thanksgiving – bring on the turkey and cranberries – but some of us have still gotta shop, right?
Here’s your handy guide to what’s open and what’s not in Vancouver, this Thanksgiving Monday:
Open
Grocery Stores
- Safeway (regular hours)
- Save-On-Foods (regular hours)
- No Frills (regular hours)
- Wholefoods (regular hours)
- IGA (regular hours, except Burrard store, which may have reduced hours)
- Superstore (regular hours)
- City Market (regular hours)
- Urban Fare (open but with reduced hours)
- Meinhardt (open but with reduced hours)
- Walmart (regular hours)
Liquor Stores
- BC Liquor Stores (some open but with reduced hours; some closed)
- Private liquor stores (regular hours)
Pharmacies
- Safeway (open but with reduced hours)
- London Drugs (open with reduced hours)
- Shoppers Drug Mart (regular hours, except Vancouver General Hospital, Hornby Street, East Broadway, Commercial Drive, and East 10th locations, which are closed)
Malls
- Pacific Centre Mall (open from 11 am to 6 pm)
- City Square (open from noon to 5 pm
- International Village (open from 10 am to 10 pm)
- Kingsgate Mall (open from 11 am to 5 pm)
- Oakridge (open from 11 am to 6 pm)
- Park Royal (open from 11 am to 6 pm)
- Metrotown (open from 11 am to 7 pm)
Libraries
- Carnegie Reading Room (regular hours)
City Services
- Kerrisdale, Killarney, Kitsilano, Mount Pleasant, Sunset, and Trout Lake community centres (check this list for exact times)
- About half the fitness centres in Vancouver are open (check this list for exact times)
- All pools are open, except Kensington and Lord Byng
- All golf courses open as normal
Post Offices
- Post offices operated privately may be open if the host business is open; otherwise all Canada Post offices are closed.
