If you’re a vegetarian or vegan who’s been feeling left out of the overwhelming Nashville Hot Chicken trend in Vancouver – we’re looking at you, DL – you no longer need to feel FOMO.

Our favourite punk hotdog joint, What’s Up? Hot Dog!, will be adding a killer new vegan offering to its full-time menu on March 2 – the Nashville Hot “Fricken” Sandwich.

This creation is made from a seitan-like patty made with nutritional yeast and vital wheat gluten.

The patty is made crispy on the outside and piled with shredded lettuce, bread and butter pickles, housemade Sriracha mayo, and served on a fresh potato bun.

This new item packs a serious punch in the form of a slow-burning (but delicious) spice. It will be available daily and comes with fries for $15.

What’s Up? HotDog! has experienced serious success from its weekly vegan wings night on Mondays (pro top: they just launched an awesome new Pineapple Sriracha variety), but soon folks can get in on the “Fricken” Sandwich any time they want.
