WestJet cancels five Vancouver flight routes to the U.S. this winter

If you are planning to travel to the U.S. this winter, there will be fewer Vancouver flight routes to do so.

WestJet is cancelling 10 of its routes from Canada to the U.S. in the winter of 2026/27, with five of them out of YVR, according to analysis by AeroRoutes.

“The carrier’s service from Vancouver to the U.S. is being reduced from 11 routes to six, while weekly departures are being reduced from 66 weekly to 49,” reads the post from AeroRoutes.

AeroRoutes found these cancelled routes by comparing WestJet’s June 14 and July 26 schedule filings.

Here are the cancelled routes:

  • Vancouver to Atlanta: Two weekly flights cancelled from Oct. 25, 2026, to April 24, 2027.
  • Vancouver to Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood: Seasonal service of one weekly flight from Oct. 31, 2026, is cancelled.
  • Vancouver to Los Angeles: 10 weekly flights are cancelled from Oct. 25, 2026, to April 24, 2027. Delta will take over this route starting on Nov. 21, 2026.
  • Vancouver to Lihue: Seasonal service of four weekly flights is cancelled from Dec. 7, 2026.
  • Vancouver to Orlando: This flight has been cancelled since April 27, 2026, but was supposed to resume on Oct. 26, 2026, with one weekly flight. The cancellation has been extended.

In other parts of Canada, WestJet has also cut two flights out of Alberta to the U.S., one from Regina, one from Saskatoon, and one from Toronto.
