It’s your day off and the first thing you want to do is get outside to make the most of the sunshine.

You want to be active but you’re not vibing with a hike that will consume eight hours of your day – it’s easier to enjoy yourself when you’re not breaking a sweat. And that’s ok, because you’ll have more time to take photos.

Thankfully there are a wealth of light walks around Vancouver that you can do as one of your daily activities. So you’ll have energy left over to go out and do something afterwards.

We’ve compiled a list of seven stunning walks you can enjoy in Vancouver. Did we mention you’ll get to see some stellar views along the way too?

Lighthouse Park

This West Vancouver park offers an abundance of light trails that offer the most amazing vistas of Starboat Cove. It’s easy to get there; if you drive from downtown it takes under an hour or you can take the 250 bus the whole way there. Start the trail at Lighthouse Park parking lot at Beacon Lane and finish there after two hours of worthwhile walking.

The seawall

Walking the seawall is a great way to stay fit and take in some of the most breathtaking views of Vancouver at the same time. Stretching out over 28 kilometres, during your walk you’ll see the Lions Gate bridge, a series of stunning beaches, forested bike trails, and even the Vancouver Aquarium. This one’s super Insta-worthy.

Quarry Rock trail

Make your way to Deep Cove to set out on this North Shore trail and feel the benefits of walking up easy to manage wooden stairs. The walk takes roughly 90 minutes. It starts and ends at the Baden Powell Trailhead at Panorama Drive, and once you reach the top you’ll get to enjoy unobstructed views of Deep Cove. Pure bliss.

Olympic Village

Located on the Southeast side of False Creek, the Olympic Village destination walk is the perfect place to take a stroll. The walking route around this area stretches out over 2.9 kilometres so it’s a wonderful place to take in the art, scenery, and structures on a summer evening or even early in the morning when the sun is rising.

Mount Pleasant

Swap the core of downtown for the scenic strolls of Mount Pleasant as this is an area where there’s a lot to be admired, including a ton of world-class murals. The Vancouver Mural Festival takes place throughout Mount Pleasant and Strathcona every summer and this August more than 60 new works of art will be painted. So it’s definitely worth walking this way.

Lions Gate Bridge

Chances are you’ve seen this bridge from a lower perspective or even passed over it while driving. But you may not have known that you can actually walk over the iconic bridge from Stanley Park to see Vancouver from an entirely new perspective. Talk a walk with your friends or your other half on a sunny day and crush on Vancouver’s beauty with the mountains and oceans surrounding you.

Pacific Spirit Regional Park

This gem is situated on the west side of Vancouver and contains more than 750 hectares of forest that you can walk through on select trails. It’s easy to walk 10 kilometres here and you can start the trail at a gate from 16th Avenue next to Camosun Park. It’s super easy to get to as it’s right on the UBC campus. You could even go and watch the sunset on Wreck Beach when you’re finished walking – because let’s be real, no one ever gets tired of gazing at our beautiful West Coast location.
