The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says they’ve seized a massive amount of cash and drugs from an apartment in downtown.

According to a police statement, officers and an ambulance responded to an apartment on the 700 blocks of Richards Street. The incident took place on Saturday morning; the officers and first responders were reportedly checking on the well-being of the occupants inside the residence.

Upon arrival, two men were found in medical distress; they were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment. The money and drugs were reportedly observed in plain view inside the apartment.

“Our officers immediately obtained a warrant to search the residence,” says Sergeant Aaron Roed, Spokesperson for the VPD in an email. “Officers located and seized multiple bricks believed to be cocaine, cash, approximately three gallons of an unknown liquid, and several ounces of a substance believed to be MDMA. The estimated street value of the drugs is several million dollars.”

Approximately $200,000 cash was seized from the apartment as well.

Police say that the investigation continues and that drug charges will be recommended should lab tests confirm that the substances are illegal.

Anyone with information on the incident is being asked to contact detectives at 604-717-0505 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
