Virtuous Pie: Plant-based pizzeria and creamery opening in Chinatown

Chinatown is about to gain a new foodie addition, thanks to newcomer Virtuous Pie, a plant-based pizza concept, which will open its doors in August.

Located at 583 Main Street, Virtuous Pie will offer healthy, ethical, sustainable, and affordable foods, including plant-based pizzas and “ice cream.” Hearty salads, craft beers, sodas, and BC wines will also be available on the menu.

Executive Chef Jim Vesal says the restaurant is designed to be fast-casual (diners can expect pizza in six minutes or less) without being what’s commonly thought of as “fast food.”

While there will be some traditional pizzas on the menu, Vesal is eager to surprise patrons with unique toppings, like kimchi and jackfruit.

Vegan and dairy-free diners will be happy to note that Virtuous Pie will also offer a range of handcrafted cashew, coconut, and almond milk-based “ice creams,” in flavours like Banana Rum, Peanut Butter Cookie Dough, and Mint and Dark Chocolate Chunk.

For further developments stay tuned to Virtuous Pie’s social media pages: Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
