Clothing Fire Sale: $10 For a Full Bag of Vintage Clothes

Dec 19 2017, 6:44 pm

A vintage clothing store has found a way for Vancouverites to upgrade their wardrobe while saving a pretty penny.

F as in Frank on Main Street near Broadway is offering their annual “Fill a bag” $10 sale on Sat. May 31. With no limits on the bio-degradable bags, shoppers can stuff as much clothing as they can into however many bags they’re willing to pay for.

Employees will not only be controlling the crowd and helping customers, but a back alley barbeque will be taking place for shoppers to enjoy. Although the store has seen upward of 500 people in previous sales, co-owner Jesse Heifetz says the profit is minimal.

It’s more about creating a good environment for people, and creating an event people will talk about for a long time,” said Heifetz.

The sale’s Facebook event has over 700 confirmed guests, and employee Angela Tchang says lining up early is smart for getting dibs on the best pieces, and suggests somewhere between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. to arrive.

Heifetz says the amount of clothing left over from the sale can be anywhere between 400-500 pounds, but it doesn’t go to waste.

We go down to Pigeon Park and give the remainder of the clothing away to the homeless. That’s another way that we kind of like to give back to the community and keep it local, and try to create some positive vibes.”
