There's an after-dark Halloween adventure happening in Vancouver next month

While it may be a popular draw for both residents and visitors during the daytime, VanDusen Botanical Garden is hosting an after-dark, Halloween-themed event this month, and is inviting everyone to check it out.

Known as VanDusen Glow in the Garden, the event invites guests to the whimsical garden and light show.

“The old barred owl has played a Halloween trick by casting a ‘hootenanny’ spell,” reads a statement. “Take a journey through the garden and help Anna the hummingbird and her friends lift the spell by collecting Halloween treats along the way.”

The walk will be filled with a variety of lights, sounds, and zany illuminated pumpkin caricatures.

There will also be tasty treats, crafts, food vendors, and a scavenger hunt.

This year’s event begins on Thursday, October 17 and runs until Sunday, October 27, 2019.

Tickets are available online,  with three different time slots to choose from:

  • 5 to 6 pm
  • 6:30 to 7:30 pm
  • 8 to 9 pm

“We highly recommend purchasing tickets online in advance,” says the Vancouver Park Board. “We had many sellout nights last year and we expect the earlier time slots and weekend nights to sell out fast.”
