Cultus Lake Summer Nightslide Concerts 2018

  • What: You can now slip and slide later and later into the night this summer, with nighttime sliding at BC’s biggest waterpark. Separate from their daytime operation, the summer nightslide runs from 8 pm until midnight and includes several live bands playing through the course of the evening. On Friday, July 20, Swamp Honey, Pleasant Trees, and Ezra Kwizera will be playing. Admission to Cultus Waterpark’s Summer Nightslide costs $22 per person (plus tax) and is considered to be separate from regular admission purchase. Visitors must enter the waterslide before 9:30 pm as late entry will not be permitted.

  • What: Known as a master of Sufi-style singing, Sartaaj has captivated audiences for years with his melodies and classic Punjabi tunes. Sartaaj graduated with an honours degree in music and also completed his 5-year diploma in classical music from Sangeet Vishard in Jalandhar, Punjab. He then headed to Punjab University, Chandigarh for his Masters, also in Music, and he also holds a PhD with specialization in Sufi poetry. Not only is Sartaaj a musician but he is also an actor, and showed his many talents in the Hollywood film The Black Prince released last year.

Slide The City North Vancouver 2018

  • What: The 1,000-foot-long slip-and-slide will be returning to Lower Lonsdale. Using inner tubes, sliders go down the hill along a four-block-long stretch of Lonsdale Avenue from Victoria Park to 4th Street, where there is a large finish line splash pool. Thousands of others will also be along the sidelines and at the finish line to watch sliders go down the roadway at speeds of up to 15 km/h. Parking for the event will be limited, so biking, walking, or transit is encouraged.
