Khalsa Diwan Society

What: The Khalsa Diwan Society Vaisakhi Nagar Kirtan is happening on Saturday, April 11, with huge floats, community performers, live music, and delicious food.

Khalsa Diwan Society encourages “all walks of life” to come together with the community. Last year saw a huge crowd of an estimated 200,000 Vaisakhi celebrants.

Richmond Cherry Blossom Festival

What: The 2026 Richmond Cherry Blossom Festival is happening at Garry Point Park on Sunday, April 12. Visitors will help celebrate the arrival of spring and the blooming of cherry blossoms and enjoy a day full of free activities, live entertainment, and food trucks.

Check out the Sakura Tent for main-stage performances and demos, including taiko drumming, folk singing and dancers, and ikebana demonstrations. Children of all ages can also stop by the Chibi-Chan Tent to learn how to fold origami creatures with special Japanese papers and techniques.

Attendees will also want to visit the Hanami Tent for displays and demos from local artisans, including bonsai, calligraphy, and origami.

Slush Cup

What: As part of Grouse Mountain’s centennial celebrations, the Resort is reviving its classic Slush Cup event. Participants dress up in costume (epic prizes up for grabs!) and attempt to skim the Slush Cup Pond.

Not ready to risk it? Visitors can enjoy a live DJ, a BBQ, and a beer garden. The celebrations continue with an après at Altitudes with music, drink specials, shot skis, and great vibes. For every registration, $5 will be donated to North Shore Rescue.

What: The Botanica Tulip Festival is returning to Chilliwack in mid-April, with 1.4 million tulips ready to bloom throughout the season.

Botanica is a floral experience that stretches across 14 acres in the Fraser Valley. There will also be a U-Pick experience, a curated display garden, a community tapestry installation, a coffee truck, a local vendor gift shop, and more.

Vancouver Canadians vs. Eugene Emeralds

What: Vancouver Fashion Week returns with a five-day showcase of international designers and runway presentations.

Susan Aglukark and PIQSIQ

What: Trailblazing Inuk artist and Juno winner Susan Aglukark and acclaimed throat-singing duo PIQSIQ team up for a highly anticipated concert at Chan Shun Concert Hall in April.

Aglukark has written and recorded 10 albums, authored two children’s books, and earned a Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for lifetime artistic achievement. And Inuit throat-singing sisters Inuksuk Mackay and Tiffany Ayalik have received acclaim for their “riveting” performances.

What: One of pro wrestling’s biggest promotions, All Elite Wrestling (AEW), is coming to Vancouver for one of its most anticipated events of the year.

AEW is bringing its annual pay-per-view event, Dynasty, to Rogers Arena on Sunday, April 12. This is the first time that AEW is returning to B.C. since its televised Collision event in May 2024.

Exploration Blank at The Improv Centre

What: If you need an escape this spring that’s truly out of this world, the funny folks at The Improv Centre (TIC) on Granville Island are ready to help you blast off with its latest comedy show.

The improv theatre company presents Exploration Blank, a family-friendly sci-fi show with the cast exploring strange new worlds, discovering alien civilizations, and more, all based on audience suggestions to power the improv minigames performed live onstage.

Food Truck Wars 2026

What: The fifth annual Food Truck Wars is returning to the Cloverdale Exhibition Grounds from April 10 to 12, transforming the venue into a food truck lovers’ paradise.

The three-day event features a carefully curated lineup of food trucks competing across multiple categories, including Best in Show, Best Meat Sweats, Best Sweet Treats, People’s Choice, and a Creative Food Award, with the award ceremony being held on Sunday (alongside a hot dog eating contest).
