Vancouver experienced some beautiful weather over the Victoria Day long weekend, but clouds are returning to the region for the shortened workweek.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is forecasting rain showers to return possibly as early as the morning of Tuesday, May 19.
And while sunshine will make an appearance during the up-and-down forecast, you may want to grab an umbrella for the last week of May.

On Tuesday, ECCC is calling for a high of 18°C and a 30 per cent chance of showers throughout the morning. A mix of sun and clouds is expected throughout the rest of the day.
You may also want to slap on the sunscreen as the UV Index for the region will be a six, or high.
“We’re looking at sunny skies through most of the week, but cloud cover is coming on Thursday,” said ECCC meteorologist Ken Dosanjh. “As you look into the weekend, there is more of a precipitation push and spring shower activity.
“The rain would be coming from the north-west, moving through the central coast. Even by Sunday and Monday, we could see falling freezing levels, some strong winds, and temperatures dropping by a few degrees.”

Things will get slightly warmer later in the week, with highs reaching 20°C on Wednesday and Friday when the sun is in the forecast. The UV Index for Wednesday will top out at seven.
Sunshine is expected to stick around on Friday and Saturday, but rain will take over starting on Sunday.
There’s a 60 per cent chance of showers on May 24, and a 70 per cent chance of showers on May 25.
Overnight lows for the week ahead will hover between 9°C and 12°C
“There are mixed signals for next week in Vancouver,” added Dosanjh. “We’re in this flux pattern where the flow will be progressive, shifting from rain to sun. We’re on the cusp of both.”
