With a rainfall warning currently in effect across the region, the City of Vancouver announced it will be opening some “extreme weather” shelters this evening for those without a warm and dry place to sleep.
PLEASE SHARE: Additional shelter spaces will open tonight (Dec 7) through tomorrow due to an Extreme Weather Alert.
Physical distancing will be encouraged to reduce the risk of transmission of #COVID19.

According to Environment Canada, the warning is in effect for:
- Metro Vancouver – central including the City of Vancouver Burnaby and New Westminster
- Metro Vancouver – North Shore including West Vancouver and North Vancouver
- Metro Vancouver – northeast including Coquitlam and Maple Ridge
- Metro Vancouver – southeast including Surrey and Langley
“An intense frontal system will move across the BC Coast today and Tuesday,” notes Environment Canada.
