Spring showers continue to dominate the weather forecast for the next week, but it comes with a pretty big temperature swing in Metro Vancouver.
According to various weather agencies, by the time next Tuesday rolls around, we could see temperatures jump by as much as 10°C.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) suggests that temperatures will jump to about 15°C in Vancouver on Tuesday, a 6°C jump from our forecasted high of 9°C today.

Most of Metro Vancouver has been plagued by constant rainfall over the past couple of weeks, with the occasional sunny break. Temperatures have been quite chilly, especially overnight. Even over the next few days, we’re going to be seeing lows of around 3°C at night.
Last week, the City of Vancouver went so far as to open additional shelter spaces due to near-freezing temperatures.
It sounds like we’re finally going to see a shift toward some warmer weather in Metro Vancouver, but it comes after a bit more chilly weather. You’ll also want to make sure you keep that umbrella handy despite the warm-up.

ECCC
ECCC says there’s a 60 per cent chance of rain next Tuesday. While we don’t typically source the Apple Weather app for our weather stories, it is notable that it expects that parts of Metro Vancouver, specifically Coquitlam, will hit 20°C next week.

Apple Weather
Additionally, ECCC says that things could get a bit gusty overnight tonight, with winds potentially reaching speeds of up to 40 km/h. Parts of Vancouver Island are currently under a wind warning for speeds up to 90 km/h.
