The turbulent weather in Vancouver continues into the month of February, though you may get to put the umbrella away for a little while this week.
Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is calling for periods of rain and drizzle to start off the new month, with warm double-digit temperatures.
Those feeling waterlogged from all the precipitation can take heart in knowing that sunshine is on the way, according to Environment and Climate Change (ECCC) meteorologist Colin Fong.

“Even in the past several days, we’ve been under a wet pattern, but the sun is on the doorstep,” Fong told Daily Hive.
“Once the current system rolls through, we’ll get some relief as a ridge of high pressure begins to take hold across Southern B.C.”
Monday, Feb. 2, brings up to 25 mm of rain to Metro Vancouver, with winds gusting up to 50 km an hour and a high of 10°C.
Wind and drizzle continue into the evening, with patchy fog developing in parts of the region. The temperature will barely dip overnight, down to just a forecasted 9°C.
Sunshine makes its highly anticipated return to Vancouver on Wednesday, Feb. 4, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 12°C, one of the warmest days of the week.

Rain will hold off until Friday evening, when the wet stuff returns just in time for the weekend. Keep your umbrellas and rainboots nearby as ECCC is calling for rain to continue until at least Sunday.
“All good things have to come to an end,” added Fong. “The ridge of high pressure will break down, at the end of the week, then return to a typical winter pattern of rain as another weather system comes through.”
