
We’re not halfway through spring yet, but many organizations around Metro Vancouver are hiring for summer jobs, and many gigs pay pretty well for seasonal work.
The province of B.C. and the Metro Vancouver region have tons of tourist attractions and organizations, and many of them go on hiring sprees around the summertime on the hunt for seasonal hires.
Some companies include transportation organizations like Rocky Mountaineer and popular summer destinations like Grouse Mountain.

Rocky Mountaineer is currently offering a few seasonal onboard opportunities. One is for a train manager, which pays up to $40 per hour. The other is for folks with culinary backgrounds, as the train company is hiring a sous chef. Rocky Mountaineer is also hiring a guest services manager, who will be paid up to $32 an hour. All of the roles come with an onboard premium.
“We are continuing to accept applications for opportunities which may become available between April and August for full-time, seasonal work through to October,” Rocky Mountaineer states in the Indeed job listing.
If you’re into fancy hotel vibes, the Fairmont Pacific Rim is hiring for a seasonal role that would be filled between May and September for a bike butler. The position pays $27.60 per hour. The successful applicant would help guests with all tasks relating to bike rentals. This includes responsibilities related to safety and maintenance.
If you’re a student, this is a great time to look for summer gigs, as many organizations are offering roles exclusively for students. One of those organizations is the Vancouver Airport Authority, which is seeking a co-op student for a job in content and design. The applicant would be working with YVR, and the role offers up to $27.05 per hour. The role would include creating content for social media and monitoring it for trends.

Johnny’s Pops makes fresh popsicles that are locally sourced, and it’s looking for a summer employee to help create the popsicles and distribute them at events like farmer’s markets. The listing says kitchen experience isn’t required, and it adds that if you drive, they’ll pay for the gas.
If you like working with your hands, the City of Vancouver has a well-paying job for a labourer up for grabs. It pays up to $34.22 an hour and doesn’t have many requirements aside from having completed high school and having some basic labour and horticultural experience.
As mentioned, Grouse Mountain is hiring and getting its summer mountain crew together. Positions pay up to $21.82 an hour.
This is just a small sample of the wide variety of summer jobs available in and around Metro Vancouver.
