Vancouver Street Style: Desiree and Mr. Risky

Dec 19 2017, 3:12 pm

As I walked down Robson Street I saw two outrageously fashionable folks and had to chase them down. So today, we present you with Vancouver’s very own Desiree Mark and Mr. Risky. The two of them were actually filming Desiree’s audition for the MuchMusic VJ contest. Check out Desiree’s profile and video, and you’ll see her sporting her amazing street style at familiar locations, such as English Bay and Robson Street. Check out the clip shown below. A couple times you may see or hear the mysterious Mr. Risky, see if you can spot him in the clip.  Support Desiree, a Vancouverite, by rating her video on the MuchMusic website. She has already made the top 40! We’ll be rooting for you Desiree and Mr. Risky. You two definitely have the swag for fame and success!

Desiree Mark:

Desiree combines leopard print blouse with skinnies and a studded leather jacket for a cute punk look. This is very fitting since we see a bit of 90’s grunge coming back this season.

Desiree’s Street Style inspiration: Classy and cute, with a bit of edge (hence the studs with hair bow and heart-shaped sunglasses) Even the sheer leopard blouse is sort of cutesy, but the leather jacket dramatizes it, completely altering the ambiance of the outfit.

Where did you get it?

Jacket: Zara
Shirt: Zellers
Juicy Couture purse: “Present from my mom”
Jeans: H&M
Shoes: Kardashian Kollection by Kim Kardashian
Sunglasses and bow: Ardene

Donald Risky:

Mr. Risky is definitely rocking the punk-rock-skater-I-don’t-give-a-damn-what-you-think look (only way to describe it). He’s lookin’ sharp while accompanying Canada’s soon-to-be VJ Desiree. Mr. Risky is not afraid to take some risks in the realm of fashion, and it definitely pays off!

Mr. Risky’s Street Style Inspiration: Music, and aims to look a bit spooky, mysterious and intimidating (makes sense, since I was actually a bit hesitant to approach him. I told him this, and he smiled and said, “Well I guess it’s working!”)

Where did you get it?

Jacket: Le Chateau
Metallica Shirt: “friend’s closet” ( I do find that sometimes the best stuff comes from this distinct location)
Pants: Stitches
Skull hand belt buckle: Rocket (a shop in Calgary)
Shoes: West 49
Sunglasses: A Walgreens in Las Vegas

A special thanks to Desiree and Mr. Risky for taking the time to answer all my questions!
