Man dies after being shot in Vancouver on Thursday afternoon
A 32-year-old Surrey man is dead after he was shot in Vancouver on Thursday afternoon.
Vancouver Police said the incident took place just before 1 pm in the area of Marguerite Street and West 49th Avenue.
Responding to reports of gunshots, VPD officers arrived on the scene, where they found a man on the street suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, said VPD Const. Jason Doucette.
He was rushed to hospital in critical condition and died hours later.
Based on the initial investigation, police said, the shooting wasn’t random.
The victim’s name is not being released at this time and no arrests have been made.
This is Vancouver’s sixth homicide of 2018.
