Vancouver Rise FC push for playoffs with thrilling theme matches

Vancouver’s professional women’s soccer team is playing hard for a spot in the Northern Super League (NSL) playoffs, and fans can check out some exciting games this month to keep that energy growing.

Vancouver Rise FC, the defending NSL champions, have two more regular-season home games at Swangard Stadium — one in September and one in October.

The NSL is the first professional women’s soccer league in Canada. There are six clubs in total, with the others located in Halifax, Toronto, Ottawa, Calgary, and Montreal.

Tickets are on sale now for both matches, including when Vancouver Rise FC take on the Montreal Roses on Saturday, Sept. 19.

“We’re getting towards the end of the season, and every home game is going to be really important,” said Robyn Gayle, the team’s chief soccer officer.

“We know that we have the best fans in the NSL, so we’re looking forward to finishing strong at Swangard Stadium so that we can defend our title in the playoffs.”

Saturday’s match is themed Campus Kick Off, presented by National Bank.

“Class is in session at Swangard Stadium,” said the team in a statement. “Bring your campus spirit for a lively afternoon to welcome in the school year, students can show their student ID for 10 per cent off merch and food trucks.”

Vancouver Rise FC will cap off the 2026 NSL regular season with a Fan Appreciation Match on Sunday, Oct. 25 vs. Calgary Wild, presented by Explore Burnaby.

The themed match will include gameday experiences, giveaways, prize-filled contests, and more.
