Vancouver police responded to three separate stabbings that occurred within a day of each other this week.

VPD Const. Tania Visintin told Daily Hive the first incident occurred on Tuesday evening, shortly before 6 pm.

Visintin said the victim was walking in the area of Gore Avenue and East Cordova Street when he was approached by a man and stabbed.

“A friend of the victim helped flagged down a cab and the victim went to hospital on his own for non-life-threatening injuries,” she said

Then, just before 1:30 am on Wednesday, “paramedics were parked outside of St. Paul’s Hospital when a man approached them and told them he had been stabbed,” she said. “It is unknown at this time where the incident occurred, as the victim did not want police involvement.”

The man sustained injuries Visintin described as “non-life-threatening.”

Finally, on Wednesday night, around 9 pm, the third victim “was sitting with a friend” in the area of Raymur Street and East Hastings Street, “when a man came up to him and sprayed him with bear mace,” before running off.

“It wasn’t until about an hour after that the victim noticed he had a stab wound and call 911,” said Visintin. “The victim was taken to hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. This file is still under investigation.”

There’s “no indication that these three incidents are connected, she added.
