UPDATE: Vancouver Police investigating homicide of 15-year-old boy

UPDATE: Vancouver Police have upgraded the case to a homicide. Police now say he was 15 year’s old.

EARLIER:

Vancouver Police are investigating the death of a teenager at a house in East Vancouver on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, police and paramedics responded to a home on East 24th Avenue near Rupert Street at approximately 3 p.m. They found a 16-year-old boy with serious injuries and he was taken to hospital. However, he succumbed to his injuries.

“The death is considered suspicious at this time and detectives with the VPD Major Crime Section have been called in,” according to police in a statement.

Few details are available at this time as the investigation is in its early stages.
