Vancouver Park Board is reopening pitch and putt courses June 9

The Vancouver Park Board (VPB) has announced that it will be reopening three pitch and putt courses to the public this week.

Queen Elizabeth, Rupert, and Stanley Park will open at 8 am on Tuesday, June 9. The city-owned courses have been closed since mid-March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The VPB adds that its reopening is aligned with BC’s Restart Plan and in consultation with government and health partners.

A number of health protocols and new rules of play are being introduced to support physical distancing while golfing.

Course users will find new signs while queueing as well as marked waiting areas for groups that are waiting to begin a hole.

Only one group of golfers will be allowed on a hole at a time and must wait until the next hole is fully cleared until moving forward. A maximum of 18 groups will be allowed on a pitch and putt course at any time.

Equipment rentals will not be available at this time and once a round is completed, golfers will need to exit immediately through designated signs.

Last month, the VPB reopened Langara Golf Course, the third and last of its city-owned courses.

The three pitch and putt courses will be open seven days a week from 8 am to 8 pm.
