Vancouver woman captures 'magical' display of Orcas near the seawall

We’re in the peak of whalewatching season in B.C., but recently, a Vancouver woman caught a “magical” display of Orcas near the seawall, under the Lions Gate Bridge.
The video from Instagram user @lindsapedia has now gone viral, with over 20,000 likes and hundreds of thousands of views.
“Today and Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of seeing Orcas coast under the Lions Gate Bridge very close to the sea wall,” she wrote.
The IG user said that what she observed were three transient Orca pods across the two days, and she waited an hour to see them over the past weekend. On both days (Saturday and Sunday), they passed between 2 and 4 p.m.
“It was emotional, magical, breathtaking,” she wrote, adding, “I’m so grateful for the community that makes these sightings possible. Special shout out to my new friend Anastasiya for filming while I took photos.”

One user commented, “Aren’t they just THE BEST?”
“That’s so freaking cool, Orcas are awesome animals,” another said.
It has been quite the week for whale sightings in Vancouver.
Last week, a grey whale was spotted in several popular Vancouver spots.
Wildlife photographer Kathleen McCormick shared an image to social media of the grey whale breaching off of Second Beach in Stanley Park on Monday, April 27.
And just today, someone else posted on the Vancouver subreddit about an interesting interaction between a humpback whale and salmon fry in North Vancouver’s Deep Cove.
As of this publication, @lindaspedia’s video has been viewed almost 300,000 times.
