Mutts needed for dog show exclusively for mixed breeds in Vancouver

All hail the mighty mixed breeds!

This weekend in Vancouver, a very special dog show is happening, dedicated to the bad boys of the canine world.

That’s right, it’s all mutts — and the show is calling on dog owners to register their very good boys to participate.

You won’t find any agility and judging based on strict kennel club breed standards at the Kerrisdale Mutt Show.

Instead, mixed breeds of all shapes, sizes and, ages will compete in some very unconventional categories that highlight the uniqueness that makes them awesome.

  • Waggiest tail
  • Best lap dog over 40 pounds
  • Most unidentifiable mix
  • Shortest and longest ears
  • Best trick
  • Easiest carry-on
  • Best singer
  • Looks most like owner
  • Most obedient

Sponsored by the Kerrisdale Business Association, its motto is: “Every dog must have its day.” Donations will also be accepted for the Vancouver branch of the BC SPCA.

The mutt show is part of Kerrisdale Days, two days of festivities that feature live bands, face painters, and sidewalk sales.

So grab your mutt and head to the park!
