VPD investigating homicide after man collapses in middle of sidewalk

A 37-year-old man is dead, and Vancouver police are now investigating what they said is the city’s fourth homicide of 2021.

According to VPD, the investigation began when patrol officers were flagged down on West Hasting Street, just after 10 pm Sunday night, after a witness reported seeing the man collapse in the middle of the sidewalk.

“BC Ambulance Services arrived on scene and found stab wounds while performing chest compressions,” police said. “The man was taken to hospital where he later died of his injuries.”
