"I was in shock": Vancouver senior plans on sharing $1M lotto win with family

It looks like it’s smooth sailing from here for Vancouver senior Yee Mon Gin, the latest winner of the $1 million Lotto Max.

The 85-year-old purchased the winning ticket from 88 Supermarket on Victoria Drive, where he also checked his ticket with the retailer.

“I couldn’t think of anything,” he recalled. “I was in shock.”

Gin said he shared the life-changing news with his son, who was equally excited and happy.

Now, aside from taking a cruise when it’s once again safe to do so, Gin said he plans to share the winnings with his family.

“There’s nothing that I need,” he said. “I’m very happy.”
