Bougie Vancouver car club launches and memberships aren't cheap

A luxury car club is launching in Vancouver, giving members access to some of the finest vehicles on the market.

The Vancouver Luxury Car Club, or VLCC, is launching with a curated collection of 70 supercars, featuring cars from renowned brands such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, and Aston Martin, all available to members. Fifteen brands are included at launch.

“Our members don’t want to be tied down to one car, one brand, or one depreciating liability. They want variety, flexibility, and something that fits their lifestyle – whether that’s a Ferrari on a Friday night or a Range Rover on a rainy Monday,” said Mark Cheng, the founder and CEO of VLCC.

Here’s how it works. A membership includes vehicle access, insurance, maintenance, roadside assistance, app usage and on-demand concierge services.

A media release says that the club is geared toward entrepreneurs, executives, and “people who move frequently.”

The private membership is meant to replace traditional car ownership. Car types include luxury SUVs, electric vehicles (such as the Porsche Taycan and Audi E-Tron), all-rounders, and executive cars.

There are two membership types: personal and corporate. A personal membership will cost members a $60,000 initiation fee and a monthly fee of $5,500.

The corporate membership costs $75,000 for the initiation fee, plus an additional $15,000 per extra driver (up to four drivers). The monthly cost is $6,000, with an additional $500 for each driver. Memberships offer members access for 365 days.

While the car club is launching in Vancouver, Cheng has plans to take it global.

“Vancouver is our testbed — but the model was always intended to scale,” Cheng said. “We’re not in the car rental business. We’re building a global platform for frictionless luxury
mobility.”

Vehicles will be refreshed regularly, and they’re also eligible for cross-border travel.

“Bespoke arrangements can be made for long-distance trips members may wish to take,” VLCC notes.

It adds that members are limited “to preserve exclusivity and maintain its high service standard. Each member has access to the full fleet, with a 1.5:1 vehicle-to-member ratio during the first launch phase.”

“Our members don’t want to be tied down to one car, one brand, or one depreciating liability. They want variety, flexibility, and something that fits their lifestyle – whether that’s a Ferrari on a Friday night or a Range Rover on a rainy Monday,” Cheng said.

Memberships are exclusive and limited, but you can express your interest on the VLCC website.

“We’re not asking people to buy into a dream – they already own their dreams. We’re offering the keys to live them, daily,” Cheng adds.
